Miss Tombigbee 2009 is Meri – Glenn Freeman of Vestavia Hills , Alabama . She is a Jr. Political Science and Public Relations Major with a minor in Civic Engagement and Leadership at the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa . Her platform issue is Target Tutoring. While at the University of Alabama Meri-Glenn is active in The XXXI Women’s honorary society, Mortar Board Honorary Society, The Anderson Society, Blue Key Honorary Society, Omicron Delta Kappa Honorary Society as well as Lambda Sigma, Phi Eta Sigma, Alpha Lambda Delta, Golden Key, and Order of Alpha Greek Honorary Societies. She serves many of these organizations as an officer and she is Vice President of her sorority Chi Omega. She is active in the Capstone Mentors program as well as the University Honors One on One Mentor. Meri-Glenn has also served the University of Alabama President’s office as a liaison for the University Mentoring Program. Meri-Glenn performs a jazz dance for her talent.
