Welcome! The Miss Tombigbee Scholarship Program is an organization that provides participants with the opportunity to enhance their professional and educational goals with the assistance of monetary grants and awards through our participation, as an official local preliminary pageant, in the Miss Alabama and Miss America Scholarship Organizations.
Scholarship funds are contributed by individuals and corporate sponsors who commit their support to the professional advancement of young women. At local, state and national competitions for last year, over $45 million in awards was available. A critical component of the overall organization, this scholarship program enables recipients to apply these grants toward furthering their education, which will greatly enhance the probability that they achieve their ultimate goals.

The scholarship fund is based on a rich scholastic tradition that has been the cornerstone of the Miss America program. Since 1945, we have provided more than $100 million in scholarships, making us the largest provider of scholarships for women in the world. Today, educational advancement, achievement and public service continue to be the primary objectives of the Miss America Organization in the face of changing roles for women in American society.

Historically, corporations and business owners have been the driving force behind the success of the Miss America Organization, maintaining one of the strongest grassroots networks in the country. Some 300,000 volunteers, from the smallest towns to the largest cities, mobilize their resources every year because they truly believe in the benefits afforded America’s young women through this program.
I encourage you to take another look at the Miss America Organization. I think you'll find the changes we're making are in step with society today and focused on providing young women throughout Alabama with a venue that enables them to achieve their goals.
